Disneyland in the Flood
So we went to Disneyland this December, as we have done every December that we have been married. I've never in my entire life been to California in the kind of flood we were in. It was Phoebe's first trip and she spent the whole time under a rain cover very graciously donated by Gary and Traci. I have very few pictures to choose from because I didn't want to take Phoebe out in the pouring rain. Here are a few of my favorites.
Phoebe was so tired on the only day that it didn't rain that she fell asleep riding the carousel. She loved all the rides she went on and she went on quite a few.
Thank goodness for our Marmot water resistant jackets and ponchos. We would have been toast without them. Very very soggy toast.

2010 The Year of the Needle
It's been an interesting year for us. Ryan and I had 2 hospital visits each this year, a new job, new house, new baby, new shoulder and now new knee! Let's hope next is filled with many adventures and less trips to the hospital.
I am sure, after this last trip to the hospital, that Ryan and medication don't mix well. Here is the conversation we had when I came into the hospital room after his knee surgery. When I went in Ryan had his eyes closed. He opened them briefly and smiled at me before going back to sleep. I sat on the chair in the room and waited for him to wake up. When I did he looked at me and said,
Ryan: Where's Phoebe?
Me: At your mom's house.
Ryan: Why?
Me: Because I need to take care of you and it's easier with when she's not here.
Ryan: Why?
Me: Because you just got out of surgery.
Ryan then fell asleep again for about 5 minutes. When he woke again he started to look at the clock.
Me: What are you looking at?
Ryan: What time is it?
Me: Twelve o'clock.
Ryan: In the morning?
Me: No in the afternoon.
Ryan then began to look at his finger that had the heart monitor in it.
Ryan: (alarmed) It's all red.
Me: It's a light.
Ryan:Why?
Me: It's to monitor your heart.
Ryan: Why?
Me: Because you just got out of surgery.
Ryan closed his eyes again and I assumed he was asleep. Then he opened his eyes again and began to look at the clock.
Me: It's 12:05
Ryan: No it's 1:00.
Me: The big hand is on the one but the little hand is on the 12 so it's 12:05. I'll show you on my phone. Can you see it?
Ryan: No. Can we go?
Me: I don't think they'll let you go yet.
Ryan: Why?
Me: Because I don't think you're awake enough yet to go home.
He then fell asleep again. He woke up about 10 minutes later and said,
Ryan: Where is Phoebe?
Me: At your mom's house.
Ryan: Why? We repeated the whole conversation 3 more times.
I love Ryan so much. I am so glad I have him!

The Ulcer
Ryan is riding in the Ulcer today. It's a 111 mile bike ride around Utah Lake (see map below). I'm not sure how much fun it will be with a hurting knee and toe, but whatever. GO RYAN!

Sea World
So Ryan and I thought it would be fun to go on a trip before the baby was born, so over the last holiday we decided to take a trip to Sea World. We found some tickets that would allow us to see Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, and the Wild Animal Park for $99.00. So off we went with our some of our friends.
If you can see my face in this last picture that should tell you how much pain I was in by the end of the day. My feet were killing me.
We spent some time at the beach and watching the sea lions there.

Moab's Christmas Light Festival Parade
We went to Moab this Saturday with some of our friends. This weekend was Moab's Christmas parade. This is the second time we've seen this parade. When we went down to Moab for our Honey Moon three years ago we came upon this parade when we parked on Main Street to go eat. When we came out of the restaurant we couldn't get out because the parade was going on.
I don't know if you can read the words in this picture, but they say, "Jingle Bells Jingle Bells Jesus All the Way." I thought that was really awesome. Life doesn't get better than the Christmas parade in Moab.
We all agreed though that we felt like we were intruding on something private.
To the right is the last canoe in a ling line of canoes. You can't see it, but there are a few people paddling in there.
Man we love Moab!

Cruise and Disneyland
Recently we went on a cruise to Mexico with Ryan's grandparents. It was really fun. I wonder what this monkey is smoking? Anyway, we went on Carnival this time instead of Royal Caribbean. We really enjoyed the free hot chocolate and ice cream. I personally really hated the day at sea! I was sick the whole day even after taking motion sickness medicine. Other than that the cruise was about the same as it always is. The food was the same and the towel animals were pretty much the same (though we didn't have a monkey this time).
This is one of my favorites
They also had a Golf Course on the ship which was pretty fun. The rocking made it hard to aim. Not that I can aim the ball anyway. I think the rocking ship helped because I actually made a hole in one on this course.
They also had a water slide on the ship and we saw some awesome botanical gardens on Catalina Island.
How many Mickey Mouse heads can you see in this picture?
We also stopped at Disneyland on the way home. We have never been there during Halloween time before, but it was really cool. The new fireworks show was especially cool.
This is at the front entrance. It's a little hard to see in the dark.
